In conventional architecture, facadees were characterised by window arrangements and axes. They often featured surface relief with architectural elements from the relevant period or style. The structure of the façade also determined the ground plan; the greater the number of window axes in a room, the more important the function of the user.

Office buildings usually had a clear structure and predetermined number of axes, which defines how much spaces for top level managers and for the mere civil servants. As window strips introduced, these hierarchies were waived. Today, more and more architecture uses a complete transparent facade which translates the sense of modernity. At the same time, individual requirements escalate and need to be reconciled with the desire for comfort.

Expanding the possibilities to afford between privacy and transparency needs, the architect came up with ideas on working the facade into something dynamic. The facade changes everytime based on changing conditions and needs. Thus it is possible to realise these new transparent façades and yet still maintain a cosy atmosphere in the rooms. These dynamic facade changes continuously, making sense of a dynamic sculpture.

Woodworking is a piece of cake …

With tons of blueprints (over 16,000!) for different furniture designs and outdoor woodwork projectsyou can have a great insight into how to build different things with wood. In it, they tell you about wood, how to design projects, the detailed photographs, patterns, blueprints, materials list and step by step instructions on how to put build them.

The second part shows you the different tools and how to use them, and a complete guide to woodwork carpentry. And the color photographs and drawings are beautiful and show a lot of detail.
