When the land is just too expensive to afford, water can be an alternative as a place for living. Designers from the German design firm Confused Direction, Flo Florian and Sascha Akkermann developed the Silberfisch SchwimmHausBoot, which means “Floating House Boat” in Oldenburg, Germany.

The designer was inspired by many cultures which made living on the water as a tradition. With a firmly anchored boat, anyone can live permanently on a river or large expanses of water. This German house boat design not only creating a log cabin on the water, but furthermore it provides an equivalent home with a mix balance of design and maritime romance experience.
