Architects of Formwerkz have recently completed a home architecture project for a multi-generation family consisting of 11 persons. The house design should be built on a fairly small built-up area of 4,600 square. Also the client, demanded certain fengshui requirements to be applied.
The requirements from the authorities is that building should in some extend shaped the massing and layout of the design are that “no hole be bored into the ground and the house to be under one roof”. The first requirement ruled out the possibility of a basement and the need for the swimming pool to be raised above grade.
The curvilinear plane of timber fins, glass also titanium-zinc which envelopes the family room, balcony, master bedroom and attic spaces expand and unites the layered useful spaces at the same time, creating a kind of spaciousness in an otherwise compact layout.
