The Margarido House is 55 percent more energy efficient than California’s Title 24 energy standards. The home features extensive green building components such as eco-friendly Western Red Cedar siding, a planted green roof garden and deck, on-site rain and ground water reclamation, in-floor hydronic heating, and solar electric and solar thermal (hot water) systems.
Design elements include polished concrete surfaces, floor to ceiling windows and doors, an abundance of natural light, and the latest in contemporary green appliances, lighting, tile, fixtures, cabinetry and finishes.
The Margarido House has become a symbol of the movement in high design, high sustainability, collaboration and community. Over 6,000 designers, architects, builders and homeowners have toured the home to learn about sustainability and high design.

I live in South Africa and myself and my fiance are planning on building a eco friendly home in the near future. I was wondering what the possibility is that we can purchase this house plan and view the floor plan.

Thanks for every other magnificent post. Where else could anyone get that type of information in such an ideal approach of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m at the search for such info.
