Located in Miami’s oldest neighborhood, Coconut Grove, architectural office Max Strang Architecture have completed the minimalist house interior redesign project which was first built in the 1980’s. The modern house had experienced two renovations before and was quite mature for a design overhaul.
Strang redesigned the house by keeping its exterior and give it a fresh new look, while the interior was completely gutted out to reveal a modern and uplifted look. There were glass-block partitions removed as well as the beige ‘popcorn-stucco’ scraped from the entire wall surface. As for exchange, new wiring, plumbing, and central air were installed, several major interior structural walls were reconfigured and random window alignments were given order to create a clean design for the exterior.
The top floor contains a large master suite, guest bedroom and reading loft. The main entrance to the home is on the second floor, which contains the living, dining and kitchen areas. The level below host the realm of teenagers with two additional bedrooms and a den. To exploit the outside beauty, an outside terrace was added adjacent to the living room, creating an additional carport space below.
The stainless steel kitchen enjoys amazing views of the lush tropical exterior environment while the red seater and stools add an interesting accent to the gray toned kitchen.
