Located in Zagreb, Croatia, the architectural and engineering firm UPI-2M has completed the Arena Zagreb, a multi-purpose sports hall such as boxing, handball, volleyball, basketball, table tenis, athletics etc. The Arena was mentioned to be finished in order to hold the World Handball Championship in Croatia 2009.

Minimum capacity is 10,000 seats for athletics competitions, and maximum with over 25,000 seats for concerts. For handball matches during the World Championship 2009 capacity will be around 16,000 seats. The final match of World hanball championship Croatia 2009 will be played in brand new Zagreb Arena, in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia




Beatiful facade was defined by curved columns which derived from the shell shape. Basic shape and structural element of this hall are pre-stressed prefabricated reinforced concrete columns with the height up to 39 m. Eighty-six columns surrounding the hall defines its volume, carrying lexan facade, supporting stands and carries suspended steel roof structure.
