British firm Gareth Hoskins have gone to on to win the first Royal Institute of British Architects National Awards, for The Bridge Arts Centre in Easterhouse, Glasgow. The design was described as ‘sensational and stunning’ and as a truly accessible project that represented ‘urban regeneration at its most powerful’.

The new building consists of a theatre, dance studio, recording studios, production suites, visual arts spaces, community library, cafe and the base for the National Theatre for Scotland. The project now goes on to the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize Awards mid-list and is the only Scottish project to be shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Better Public Buildings Award.
