Modern House Design in Wicklow by Odos Architects

This house is a two storey house with vehicular and pedestrian access from the Bray Road. Occupying an area of 287 sqm area, the Dublin architecture firm, Odos Architects completed this building in 2006.

Simply the house is a bold sculptural form which located at the foot of the steep escarpment in the Wicklow hills. The house accommodation is comprised of a two car garage, boiler room, wc and utility at ground floor level and open plan living, kitchen, dining areas with 3 bedrooms, study and family bathroom at first floor level.

Internally the hallway at main entry level has been conceived as an “internal street” the dimensions of which widen to the more public aspects of the plan and diminish along the points of entry to private bedrooms and bathrooms. A study at main entry level offers a taste of the internal experience prior to entry.

The roofscape is peppered with rooflights in an attempt to engage the user with the steep escarpment to the rear of the house. This affords the occupant vertical views of sky and foliage from the most private spaces within the house.

This house allows the fluidity of the surrounding landscape remain uninterrupted, whilst also giving the occupant a raised vantage point from which to engage with nature.

Woodworking is a piece of cake …

With tons of blueprints (over 16,000!) for different furniture designs and outdoor woodwork projectsyou can have a great insight into how to build different things with wood. In it, they tell you about wood, how to design projects, the detailed photographs, patterns, blueprints, materials list and step by step instructions on how to put build them.

The second part shows you the different tools and how to use them, and a complete guide to woodwork carpentry. And the color photographs and drawings are beautiful and show a lot of detail.

This is really weird. I wonder what the owner feels living here. Its quite an architectural design though, this can pass for some sort of guiness record.
