Collection of modern, minimalist, and eco friendly architectural design for your home inspiration
Raleigh, Morth Carolina-based Frank Harmon Architects has delivered a modern moving architecture design of a family residence in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The home design has received the 2009 AIA Housing Award recently.

This Low Country Residence did evoke the feel of living outdoors. Built with long form, one-room-deep floor plan gives each room windows and porches overlooking Shem Creek. A modern interpretation of Charleston’s historic shutters provides protection from harsh weather and summer sun.

What makes this residence as a moving architecture are the operable windows which provide natural cross-ventilation and lighting. Approaching the house under a canopy of moss-draped live oaks and up a gentle ramp, the view of the marsh appears like an element in a Japanese painting. The panels can protect the house during any season. In their horizontal (open) position, they shade the house. Closed, they create a shaded, protected porch.

With tons of blueprints (over 16,000!) for different furniture designs and outdoor woodwork projectsyou can have a great insight into how to build different things with wood. In it, they tell you about wood, how to design projects, the detailed photographs, patterns, blueprints, materials list and step by step instructions on how to put build them.
The second part shows you the different tools and how to use them, and a complete guide to woodwork carpentry. And the color photographs and drawings are beautiful and show a lot of detail.
