Collection of modern, minimalist, and eco friendly architectural design for your home inspiration
New York based firm, WXY architecture + urban design along with the NYC & Company, have completed the NYC Information Center which located at 810 Seventh Avenue (between 52nd and 53rd streets). The NYC Company itself is the New York’s official marketing, tourism and partnerships organization. Their collaboration resulted in an architectural and interior design with innovative re-invention of the way visitors and residents plan their New York City itineraries.
The NYC Information Center which has officially opened to the public on January, 21st, 2009, is projected to be a model for visitor information centers around the globe. One major thing which can be pointed out is the elimination of the need for dated print brochures. Most of information resources available in this building have been digitized. Alternatively, users can now place digitized “pucks” on the ‘Interactive Map Tables’, which trigger the mapping software and allows them to create custom guidebooks and itineraries of New York City.
The i-shaped glowing “digital mirrors” that hover above the Smart Tables are guided by the universal symbol for information – a single i – and function to draw visitors through the space on an oblique pathway. Visitors can also use the digitized puck-to-pylon method to obtain their itinerary in hard copy or send themselves an itinerary directly from the Interactive Map Table via email or text to access from their Personal Electronic Device.
Optimized performance of the NYC Information Center interior design is enhanced by the perfect interior lighting. Ambient, adaptable, and color-saturated lighting exposed to create a maximum experience for visitors. Recessed light coves that run the length of the space infuse the center with a soft, white illumination while the light emitted by the various media displays brighten the interior of without the use of direct lighting.
With tons of blueprints (over 16,000!) for different furniture designs and outdoor woodwork projectsyou can have a great insight into how to build different things with wood. In it, they tell you about wood, how to design projects, the detailed photographs, patterns, blueprints, materials list and step by step instructions on how to put build them.
The second part shows you the different tools and how to use them, and a complete guide to woodwork carpentry. And the color photographs and drawings are beautiful and show a lot of detail.
