Collection of modern, minimalist, and eco friendly architectural design for your home inspiration
In the town of Oloron-Sainte-Marie, France, the new Oloron Saint Marie Multimedia Center is a part of an ambitious urban regeneration project adorning a land that used to be defined by hydroelectric-powered textile industries. The project is a successful collaboration between French architectural firm Pascale Guédot with Michel Corajoud.
In addition to the carefully articulate volume, a new public promenade has been designed to follow the line of the river allowing pedestrians to Michel Corajoud’s green terraced landscape.
Exploiting the site’s natural set doesn’t mean destroying the site’s beauty at the same time, as the architecture design is a flawless fusion between existing and contemporary, landscape and built.
Oloron Saint Marie Multimedia Center was connected to the opposite banks via two walkways uniting in a 1,255 square meter public concourse and creating a necessary connection between river banks. A 44 car parking space ensures visitors are carfree when walking through the building’s glass entrance. Photographs by Gaston Bergeret
