Remodeled House With Mid-Century Style Interior Design by Jessica Helgerson

Jessica Helgerson has completed a remodeling project of a once run-down split- level ranch house. The designer needs to remove the existing kitchen entirely to create a bright, airy great room.

Anyone could have a dfferent bathing experience since the master bath was removed and relocated to the back of the house which opens to a lovely garden. The colour palette is extremely restrained throughout with dark ebonized floors, white walls, and splashes of various shades of green. All the furnishings, including the gorgeous rocking chaise, are vintage finds that we reupholstered and refinished.

Several furnishings were left antique such as a pair of Portuguese eel traps hanging over the mantle, the Chinese garden stools, a rustic mirrored cabinet, and the French blown glass demi-john bottles – add a patina of age.

Woodworking is a piece of cake …

With tons of blueprints (over 16,000!) for different furniture designs and outdoor woodwork projectsyou can have a great insight into how to build different things with wood. In it, they tell you about wood, how to design projects, the detailed photographs, patterns, blueprints, materials list and step by step instructions on how to put build them.

The second part shows you the different tools and how to use them, and a complete guide to woodwork carpentry. And the color photographs and drawings are beautiful and show a lot of detail.

  1. I love the colors that they used in the design. The bright lime green contrasts so well with the white and dark wood. I think its a great remodel. And i like the idea of the bathroom opening into the garden.
