If you were interested on the previous post about sculptural Caribbean beach house design, maybe you would take a glance to something similar from the Japanese architect Norisada Maeda. The contemporary home design which called the Celluloid Jam features walls that aim to flow continuously around the exterior, from inside to outside and back again like a Moebius strip.
This impression were acquired by realizing its complete surface without visible junctures. The wooden construction is revetted by fibre restrained plastic to create one unique surface of both interior and exterior and furthermore to form one flowing shell, in which the punctual static loads are being reduced, while the static loads can be evenly spread. So the architectural shell approaches its inspiring natural example: the egg shell.
Residents can feel the longing for the groundto become one with the architecture as the exterior and interior go hand in hand. Each chamber has a distinct connection to the outside. To develop the feel of the house’s elements of being connected, the two components (architecture and nature) have been slowly combined to one united mass by applying adhesion.
