Tropical Minimalist House Design in Iporanga by Arthur Casas

A house embedded in nature. The architect Arthur Casas has produced his own dream residence in Iporanga, located in the middle of the forest. Made of concrete and Cumaru woods, the house does blend with the surroundings. Arthur says,“I always wanted a house in the middle of the forest, in a place where I could relax and recharge my energy”.

The entire building was made up of two large symmetrical cubes embracing an open space. Arthur tend to made a synergy between interiors and exteriors. ging the outside in are 11 meter floor to ceiling glass windows, on both ends of the open central space. Cumaru wood paneling runs from top to bottom in an attempt to match and blend in with is beautiful surroundings.

The interior was made by extending the Cumaru into the house, while white stucco contrasts, highlighting the wood’s warm color. The combination between simple brown and white palette provides a nice canvas for artistic furnishings. On the inside, the seating area is centralized, being shaded from the summer sun which shines through the east and west doors. No paintings or flat screen needed, since the surround flora and fauna more than make up for this.

Minimum usage of partitions amplifies the house’s integration with its surroundings and adds grandeur to the minimalist living area. A large terrace borders the house, functioning as a belvedere to observe the surrounding untouched Atlantic Rain Forest, and a partition between natural and constructed. Stepping down, the infinity edged pool seems to pour out into the thick vegetation.

Making ethanol from corn is a good thing if you want to offset fossil fuels from overseas. On the gr?eenhouse gas side of things, it is not cle?a?r if corn, as grown today, is a good thing. We just don’t know yet, but it appears to be a mildly good thing.
