Located in Ancram, New York, HHF Architects have collaborated with Chinese artist Ai Weiwei to create the modern home design of what they called as Tsai Residence. The Swiss architect is developed the residence for two young art collectors which reflects their request for a simple abstract looking piece which sits almost without sclae on top of the vaste property.
The New York modern house was made with four equal sized boxes which built as simple wood construction covered with corrugated metal panels on the outside and wood and gypsum panels on the inside.
Different interior lighting was set in the living room in order to treat the existing and future art collections for its best visibility, while maintaining the great view of the nearby coutryside still present without being dominate. The sequence of the different rooms reflects the idea of a private gallery. Natural light is coming into the spaces through the openings in between the outer boxes.
